The member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation state the following in view of the threat of the spreading of the novel coronavirus epidemic.
The member states welcome the resolute measures being undertaken by China’s government and people to fight the epidemic and to try and stop it spreading.
The member states express sincere condolences to those who have lost their family members and friends and wish a speedy recovery to those who have been taken ill.
The member states reaffirm their readiness to render China the necessary assistance and to closely cooperate in the spirit of the 10 June 2018 Declaration on Joint Countering of the Threats of Epidemics in the SCO Space. They call on the international community to step up their interaction within the World Health Organisation so as to be able to ensure the safety of the health of the public at regional and international levels.
The member states are convinced that coordinated joint efforts as well as mutual support will make it possible to overcome this emergency and to stop the epidemic form spreading.
