On 20−23 August 2019 in Moscow, Special Representative of the Russian President on SCO Affairs Bakhtiyar Khakimov, chaired a meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators that coordinates and manages the organisation’s current activities.
The agenda included a wide range of topical issues concerning various fields of cooperation within this international association. Specifically, the partners reviewed a draft concept of cooperation between the SCO member states on developing remote and rural territories in the digital age, presented by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and a programme of the 5th Forum of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in SCO and BRICS Member States’ Regions that will take place on 26−27 September in Ufa. National coordinators also had their first informal gathering with permanent representatives of the member states in the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
During the event, the participants discussed the preparations for the regular meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council to be held on 31 October and 1 November in Tashkent. They particularly focused on the practical implementation of the Action Plan of Russia’s SCO Presidency in 2019−2020.
