On 27 September 2019, Moscow will host a meeting of heads of SCO countries’ ministries and agencies in charge of environmental protection.
Participants in the event are to conduct a comprehensive discussion of the prospects for practical cooperation in the area of intra-SCO environmental protection projects. The ministers concerned, from Russia, India, Kazakhstan and China, and heads of authorised agencies and departments from Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat, will deliver reports at the meeting.
In an effort to expand and streamline the relevant regulatory/legal framework, there will be an exchange of opinion on the Russian draft programme for improving the environmental well-being of SCO cities.
A joint communique will be passed after the discussion.
