On 18-20 September 2019, Chelyabinsk will be the venue of the seventh meeting of the SCO heads of emergency prevention and relief agencies. Participating in the event will be delegations from India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as SCO Secretariat representatives.
During the event those taking part will be reviewing cooperation in the field of preventing trans-border emergencies and conducting cleanup operations. They will share experience in responding to calamities and accidents in adjacent regions and discuss various matters concerning multilateral cooperation at the regional level and in the border area. It is expected that a protocol will be inked after the gathering.
As part of the programme, the participants will gain an insight into the work of the Chelyabinsk Region Directorate of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and its agencies. They will inspect an airmobile task force, a mobile centre for managing the ministry’s rescue teams and up-to-date firefighting and rescue equipment and technology.
